couldn't help notice the irony of all the pro-redefining-marriage friends of mine who posted movingly about their mothers today. Mother's Day and its male counterpart next month are abundant evidence that we relate to our same-sex parent differently than to our opposite-sex parent, and that we need both. Of course, the rush for gay equality is so headlong that when faced with this contradiction, the marriage-redefiners will deny anything unique or necessary about motherhood and call for "Parent One Day" and "Parent Two Day."
