"Dear Sen. John Kerry, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Rep. Niki Tsongas:
I support Capacity-Building Funding for Fatherhood Programs because... as a volunteer with the Department of Children & Families, it is crucial that social workers have the resource of the child's father to have a positive outcome for the child. Too many times I've witness a father who 'wants nothing to do with his children', despite that the children are in foster care and these men are unwilling to participate in services for the children. I've also witness fathers who have become active and taken their role as dads, in which the child may return home to family. Dads are equally important to addressing a child's needs as moms. Children need their dads."
It's unfortunate the President or any of my elected officials are incapable of acknowledging this issue through marriage public policy. Who needs to suppliment the support of fatherhood with marriage, when we can have government programs to chase down every father to make sure he is being a dad? I sent this note earlier today.
